Tangles

Tangles is published by Annisoft (Stuart Rowe). You can play the first three levels without creating an account. Optional online features use Apple sign-in, player usernames and leaderboards.
Progress on your device
The app stores your level progress and personal bests on your device. Offline personal bests are separate from the online leaderboard and are not automatically uploaded. Online account deletion does not clear this local progress.
Apple sign-in and player accounts
If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple provides an identifier for your account and may provide your email address. You can use Hide My Email when Apple offers it. Supabase authenticates your sign-in and stores your Tangles account. Tangles does not receive your Apple password. Sign-in session tokens are stored in your device Keychain.
You choose a player username. Your username, player identifier, ranking and submitted best times can be viewed through public leaderboards. Your Apple email address and sign-in credentials are not included in leaderboard responses. Avoid putting private information in your username.
Online runs and leaderboards
When you are signed in with a username and start interacting with a puzzle, the service creates a run containing your player ID, level and layout identifiers, physics ruleset and start time. After completion, the app submits the elapsed time. The service records run completion and your best submitted time for the puzzle. These records support rankings, access checks and limits on repeated submissions.
Subscriptions
Apple processes subscription payments. Annisoft does not receive your card or banking details. Tangles verifies product and transaction identifiers, purchase dates, expiry and revocation information, and an account token linking the purchase to your player account. This information unlocks subscriber levels and verifies access to their leaderboards.
Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Deleting your Tangles account does not cancel App Store billing. Apple may retain transaction records under its own policies.
Service providers and security
Apple provides sign-in and App Store purchase services. Supabase provides account, database and server-function infrastructure. The Tangles database is hosted in Sydney, Australia. Provider authentication, delivery, security and support systems may process information in other countries.
Online services receive technical information such as IP addresses and request timestamps when you connect. These services may keep operational and security logs. We use encrypted network connections and restrict access to private account records. No system can guarantee absolute security.
The app does not include advertising or a third-party advertising-tracking SDK. Annisoft does not sell your personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.
Retention and account deletion
Account profiles, usernames, best times and subscription-access records are retained while your account exists unless removed earlier for service operation. To delete your account, open Account in Tangles and choose Delete Account. You will be asked to authenticate with Apple again. The service revokes your Apple authorization and deletes your account and its associated profile, scores, runs and subscription-access records.
Operational logs, backup copies and records that must be kept for legal or security reasons may remain after account deletion according to applicable provider retention arrangements. Deletion is not a promise of immediate removal from all backups. Contact us if you cannot access your account or want information about retention or deletion.
Your choices and requests
You can play free levels without an account, change your username, sign out, delete your online account and manage subscriptions through Apple. Your rights to access, correct or delete information may depend on the law where you live. Contact us with a privacy request or complaint so we can investigate and respond. If you are a parent or guardian with concerns about a child's information, please contact us.
